ICIS Goes to Ottawa
ICIS gave a key presentation at the Conference Board of Canada Workshop this March in Ottawa on the ICIS collaborative model of sharing geo-spatial information.
The workshop on “Improving Emergency Management through Geo-Spatial Information Solutions” gave ICIS the opportunity to present the ICIS success story. ICIS facilitates province-wide sharing of geo-spatial information providing value to BC communities that supports more effective emergency management.
Attendees of the workshop benefitted from ICIS experience with the technical and non-technical challenges of sharing geospatial data and facilitating an ongoing partnership between the public and private sectors in BC.
Barry Logan, General Manager of ICIS says “this interest in the ICIS model and ICIS membership from federal agencies such as National Resources Canada and GeoConnections means that ICIS is seen as a new way forward for a national model of cooperation and collaboration.”
ICIS is a non-profit society created to collaboratively share and integrate spatial data for the economic and social benefit of British Columbia.
