What

The CivicSpatial Grant Program is an ICIS grant initiative designed to help Local Government and First Nations improve the quality, maintenance, and sharing of cadastral and address data.

The CivicSpatial Grant Program is open to all ICIS Local Government and First Nation members thanks to the continued support from TELUS, Shaw, FortisBC, BC Hydro, BC Assessment Authority, BC Ministry of Forests, Lands and Natural Resources, and the Real Estate Foundation of British Columbia.

CivicSpatial Grants are awarded in the following categories:

 

General Funding

$1,500 for committment to frequent submission of cadastral data as changes occur, utilizing GeoShare's scheduled, automated delivery processes.

AddressBC Funding

$100,000 from the CivicSpatial Grant Program has been allocated to support the AddressBC initiative. Grants of $1,500 are available to Local Government and First Nation for their committment to frequent submission of address data as changes occur, utilizing GeoShare's scheduled, automated delivery processes.

Special Funding

Special projects funding that leads to direct improvement in the cadastral fabric. Grant amounts are assessed on a per-project basis but generally fall within a range of $1.50 to $1.75 per improved parcel.

Eligible Projects include:

  • Adopt the Integrated Cadastral Fabric (ICF) by moving infrastructure data to the new base
  • Establish new survey control
  • Resolve local government boundaries
