ICIS is pleased to welcome the City of Vernon as a new member and will be supporting Vernon’s efforts to improve their cadastral information through a CivicSpatial Grant of $15,000.
Vernon has high quality spatial data but some specific areas require updating. The grant funding will help to support updating the parcel attribution to include spatial accuracy, collection method and identification comments as well as information regarding the relative accuracy or other useful information about the data which will provide essential metadata for effective sharing of spatial information.
Another aspect of this project is the capture of sanitary and storm utility service showing the location of utility services to properties to aid ICIS members in their operations. As well, the parcel address points will be added where necessary and will identify the physical location of the house or the parcel access point or entrance.
Overall, the number of parcels that will be affected will total 8500.
Other updates include establishing survey control, geo-referencing and correcting the parcel fabric of the old City Boundary and recently annexed areas in Okanagan Landing.
