ICIS has granted CivicSpatial funding to the Village of Pemberton and the Squamish Lillooet Regional District (SLRD) who are collaborating to increase the accuracy of their cadastral fabric.

The Village of Pemberton and SLRD have both been maintaining a base layer of cadastral information in digital format, however, the Village of Pemberton has limited GIS capabilities but intends to develop a cadastral fabric that is accurate and can be readily shared with ICIS members, including the Province.

CivicSpatial funding will be used to help improve the accuracy of this fabric by establishing survey control points within the Village of Pemberton boundary and the surrounding residential areas of Area C within the SLRD using GPS technology.  This strategy will allow the Village of Pemberton and the SLRD to improve the accuracy of their cadastral base to plus/minus 0.3 metres by tying existing cadastral data to control points and enable submissions for new subdivisions tied to control points.
