The City of Revelstoke has received funding support for work to increase the accuracy of the existing parcel fabric and utility information.

As part of an ongoing plan to improve the accuracy of their spatial data the City of Revelstoke invested $20,000 in 2008 to install a permanent GPS Base Station. This Base Station is now providing surveyors with the ability to perform sub-centimeter surveys.

Further steps to establish GPS control monuments throughout the city will allow greater consistency for all future data submissions to the City and can be used to improve the accuracy of approximately 5000 parcels in the existing parcel fabric.

These improvements in the currency and quality of data will be available to ICIS members through Revelstoke's committment to this project and to providing more frequent updates to ICIS.
