DESCRIPTION:Please join the UBCM team to learn about the Next Generation 911 funding program. \nThe intent of the Next Generation 911 program is to support local preparedness for the implementation of NG911 and to provide funding to eligible recipients to support the transition and operational readiness of existing 911 services to NG911\, in compliance with the CRTC Mandate. \nFunding in the amount of $60 million has been provided by the Province of BC. The funding is being administered by UBCM on behalf of the Ministry of Citizen’s Services. \nPlease note that this session will be recorded and posted to the UBCM YouTube page for public access. DESCRIPTION:Topic: Validate your GIS data for NG9-1-1 with the new GIS Validator\nWed\, June 8\, 2022 | 10 – 11 AM PT\nNext Generation 9-1-1 (NG9-1-1) will use geospatial call routing to connect a 9-1-1 caller with the Public Safety Answering Point that services that calling location. To achieve this\, an accurate and up-to-date GIS database that meets the NG9-1-1 GIS Data Model developed by the National Emergency Number Association (NENA) is required. Do you know how well your database will perform? \nEsri Canada has released the free NG9-1-1 GIS Validator online app to assist Canadian municipalities in meeting Canada’s new location data requirements for 9-1-1. This service was purpose built at the request of municipalities through the CRTC Emergency Services Working group. It lets authoritative data providers take the first step in quickly comparing their GIS data to the NENA specifications. \nJoin the webinar to see the Validator in action and learn how you can get access to it.
