SUMMARY:LGMA Annual Conference
DESCRIPTION:Local Government Management Association of British Columbia Annual Conference\nJune 21-23\, 2022\nPenticton Trade and Convention Centre\nShifting the Lens: Bringing Opportunity into Focus is the theme for the 2022 LGMA Annual Conference.\nIn today’s world where change is status quo\, local government leaders are increasingly being called on at crucial and sometimes unpredictable moments to ensure the best possible services for their citizens. And certainly\, in response to the global pandemic local governments considered their practices and found new ways to deal with this historic event. Rather than a goal of ‘going back to normal’\, LGMA2022 focuses on coming out stronger and more resilient than where we started. \nIt is through innovation and collaborative efforts that solutions will be found to current and future challenges. Let’s take the opportunity to share insights\, broaden our thinking\, embrace diverse perspectives\, and consider how best to support our people within the shifting landscape so we can get on with next phase of our work. \nLearn more

SUMMARY:Webinar – Validate your GIS data for NG9-1-1 with the new GIS Validator
DESCRIPTION:Topic: Validate your GIS data for NG9-1-1 with the new GIS Validator\nWed\, June 8\, 2022 | 10 – 11 AM PT\nNext Generation 9-1-1 (NG9-1-1) will use geospatial call routing to connect a 9-1-1 caller with the Public Safety Answering Point that services that calling location. To achieve this\, an accurate and up-to-date GIS database that meets the NG9-1-1 GIS Data Model developed by the National Emergency Number Association (NENA) is required. Do you know how well your database will perform? \nEsri Canada has released the free NG9-1-1 GIS Validator online app to assist Canadian municipalities in meeting Canada’s new location data requirements for 9-1-1. This service was purpose built at the request of municipalities through the CRTC Emergency Services Working group. It lets authoritative data providers take the first step in quickly comparing their GIS data to the NENA specifications. \nJoin the webinar to see the Validator in action and learn how you can get access to it.
