Eden McDonald-Yale is the Society’s new Stakeholder Engagement Coordinator. Eden will be involved in outreach & engagement with all our valued Society members, supporting our current Service Offerings and geo-spatial data products.
Eden completed a Master of Science in Urban and Regional Planning and a Bachelor of Arts in Human Geography from the University of Alberta. With diverse professional experience in research and communications, GIS and mapping, and community development, Eden is passionate about community-based strategies to building and maintaining vibrant, healthy, and inclusive communities.
Outside of work, she enjoys hanging out with her cats, playing guitar, and making pottery.
Darren Smylie has joined the team as the new GIS Technology Administrator. Darren will be involved in supporting our current GeoShare data exchange infrastructure.
Darren holds a BSc. in Geomatics and Biology from the University of Victoria as well as a certificate in python programming from the Southern Alberta Institute of Technology. He has worked for municipal governments and private organizations primarily in GIS roles. He has worked and lived across Alberta, British Columbia, and the Northwest Territories. He is excited to contribute to and grow with the ICI Society.
In his off time, you can find him in the woods, on a beach, or composing music.
