Steve Mark, BA, ADipl T (GIS), GISP
Director of Operations
As the Director of Operations at ICI Society, Steve is fortunate to lead this innovative non-profit organization that facilitates the sharing of geo-spatial data from Local Governments, Utility companies, Provincial Ministries, First Nation Bands and the private sector within BC.
Steve is responsible for ensuring the Operations Team carries out the day to day activities in support of the Strategic Plan that has been set up by the Board. The role he plays at ICI Society is to bring together individuals from the diverse member segment and collaborate and facilitate new ideas that revolve around the sharing of geo-spatial data.
Though ICI Society is central in the sharing of geospatial data within BC, it is the fostering of strong relationships and trust among our membership that he feels has proven to be the true value. Membership outreach and support is definitely the highlight of his role at ICI Society.
He holds a BA in Geography form the University of Victoria and an Advanced Diploma in GIS from the College of New Caledonia.
In his spare time, Steve enjoys traveling with his family, skateboarding, biking, standup paddle boarding and tennis.
Eden McDonald-Yale, MScURP
Stakeholder Engagement Coordinator
Eden is involved in outreach and engagement with all our valued Society members, supporting the Society’s service offerings and geo-spatial data products.
Eden is passionate about community-based strategies to building and maintaining vibrant, healthy, and inclusive communities. She holds degrees in Urban and Regional Planning (MSc) and Human Geography (BA) from the University of Alberta, and has diverse professional experience in research and communications, GIS and mapping, and community development.
Outside of work, she enjoys playing guitar, making pottery, bike riding, petting cats, and hanging out in/on/by the water.
David Cooke
GIS Technology Administrator
David has over 20 years of experience administering and operating a GIS within a local government setting, including the promotion and distribution of GIS Technologies throughout an organization to drive adoption.
As the GIS Technology Administrator, David supports and manages the Society’s Data Warehouse and Catalog, and the GeoShare Infrastructure. This includes improvements to and the expansion of automated services to support data sharing for the Society’s members.
David’s hobbies include motorcycling, kayaking, hiking, bicycling, and skiing.
Brittney Bourdages, BScH, PgD GIS
GIS Analyst
As a GIS Analyst, Brittney supports the Society’s service offerings and geo-spatial data products.
Brittney joined the Society with 6 years of experience in consulting, having worked with municipal, First Nation and local governments in both BC and Saskatchewan. She holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Ecology from the University of Guelph and a post-graduate GIS Applications Specialist diploma from Fleming College. Brittney excels in leveraging GIS tools to address spatial challenges and is passionate about emerging technologies and trends.
Outside of work she enjoys art, reading, running and camping.
Karen Braun
Administration Coordinator
Karen supports the Board of Directors and the Director of Operations. As well, she is responsible for records management for the Society and assigning member credentials.
“On a personal note, I’ve driven on the Autobahn, I’m a mediocre chess player, and I’m terrified of spiders and they seem to know it as they seek me out at every opportunity. As well, I love a good laugh and I’m fortunate enough to work with such amazing people who afford me that luxury on a regular basis.”

IT Manager
As the IT Manager, Brian’s role at the Society is to keep the IT infrastructure running to support member’s services. He also explores new technologies and services that will benefit the ICI Society and makes sure the systems adhere to current IT Standards.
Brian joined the Society with 25 years experience working for BC local government, specifically in GIS, Engineering infrastructure, and IT services.
Brian holds a diploma from Thompson Rivers University in Computer Aided Drafting & Design and a UNiGIS diploma from Simon Fraser University.
In his spare time, Brian he enjoys traveling, studying wine, martial arts and cycling.
Daniel Gilloch
Systems Architect
Daniel has over 10 years of IT experience ranging from healthcare, non profits, datacenters, and start ups.
As the Systems Architect, Dan manages and supports the Society’s infrastructure, such as the web services, data portal, website, spatial database management, and a variety of member services.
Outside of work, he enjoys mountain biking, basketball, and woodworking, and is a home lab enthusiast.
