Canada’s geospatial community is coming together for the first-ever national geospatial exposition in Calgary. The GoGeomatics Expo will take place November 6-8th on the iconic Calgary Stampede grounds.

“The idea for the expo really came around the fact that we don’t have a marquee national event that showcases the best of geomatics and Canada to the world,” said Jonathan Murphy, founder and Managing Director of GoGeomatics. “The geo sector is a big tent, and the Expo is designed to serve that broad community. It’s not just for surveyors or GIS professionals; it’s for anyone leveraging geospatial technology, from those involved in monitoring and asset mapping to reality capture and more.”

Highlights of the GoGeomatics Expo include:

  • Speaking Programs: Renowned experts in the geospatial field will be sharing insights on industry trends, challenges and future opportunities. Thought-provoking panel discussions will bring together experts from various sectors to explore how geospatial technology is shaping industries across Canada. Themes of discussions include, reality capture/digital twins, earth observation, BIM/GIS, surveying, leadership, education, government and geomatics for climate resiliency.
  • Trade show: Attendees will see cutting-edge geospatial products, solutions and services from engineering firms, product and software developers, navigation specialists, satellite experts and more. Demos and workshops will allow participants to enhance their skills and knowledge in geospatial tools, data analysis and geographic information systems (GIS).
  • Career Fair: Co-located with the Expo, the GeoIgnite Career Fair is where Canada’s top organizations will recruit from a diverse pool of professionals, including students and graduates from the Expo’s Education Partners, the University of Calgary and the Southern Alberta Institute of Technology (SAIT).

The GoGeomatics Expo fosters collaboration and will showcase the latest advancements in the geospatial sector. This community-driven event provides an arena for professionals to connect, share ideas and stay updated on the latest developments in research, technologies and services.

Expo committee member, Mamatha Sanapala says, “For me, the GoGeomatics Expo gives exposure to the latest trends in Canadian geomatics. I also believe these kinds of events encourage sharing of knowledge, new ideas and innovations which leads to new solutions. And the opportunity to network in the community will be invaluable.”
