We’re excited to announce that we’re moving to a unified username system across all our platforms! This change will make it easier to manage accounts, enhance security, and improve overall experience.
Note: This applies to individual user accounts used to access ICI Society’s Map Viewer, Data Catalog, and Collaboration Portal. Organizational accounts (i.e., accounts used to access custom GeoShare packages) will not be affected.
Why This Change?
- Simplified Experience: One username to remember for all our services, making logins easier and more intuitive.
- Improved Security: A unified username system allows us to strengthen security measures across our platforms.
- Consistency: Your username will now be consistent across all our services, making it easier for member colleagues to find you.
What You Need to Do
- Verify Your Username: Your Map Viewer username will be the common account used for all ICI Society services (Map Viewer, Data Catalog & Collaboration Portal). For now, your old “username_ftp” account will still work, but these accounts will eventually be phased out.
New Collaboration Portal
In addition to the unified username system, we have redeployed our Collaboration Portal. The Collaboration Portal aims to bring members together by providing a space to connect with each other as well as access resources.
